"Yes, You Can!" $10 grocery card

If you're going to the All You "Yes, You Can!" event this weekend and you happen to be a Reality Checker, you have a chance to win a $10 Grocery Gift Card.  I originally told you about this awesome event here, but apparently it just gets all that much awesomer (that's a technical term).  I received an email this afternoon with the details, but basically you fill out a survey and every 20th Reality Checker who attended the program and completely fills out the survey will receive a $10 Grocery Gift Card.

Unfortunately I won't be attending because there is none of my local Walmarts are participating.  I wish I could though...so if you happen to be one of the lucky ones with a participating store near you, please be sure to share your experience!

All You: Yes, You Can!

If you're looking for something to do the weekend of October 25th, consider stopping by a Walmart to attend the All You Yes, You Can! event.  Here is a list of stores that will be hosting the event on either Saturday or Sunday from 10am - 4pm.

On-site All You advisors will be sharing realistic and affordable ideas for the upcoming holidays, and true to the All You fashion, there'll be some free samples to be had from their sponsors.  Sponsors include Suave, WeighWatchers, Emergen-C, Carefree, and Crisco.  They're also giving out a Yes, You Can! Make the Holidays Easy sample bag, so if you're free that weekend it might be worth your while to stop by a Walmart and grab some freebies and ideas!

Unfortunately none of the Walmarts in my immediate area are hosting this event, so I'm going to have skip out on it.  My local Walmarts get no love.  None of them hosted the Cottonelle Stuff-a-Puppy event, and now it's the same thing with this All You Yes, You Can! event too.  And ironically, all of the Walmarts near our last home have now started hosting the events.  I just checked, and all three of them are on the list.  With my luck, by the time we move away from this area, all the stores here will start hosting the events too...

Walmart: rebate galore

As I expected, my Walmart trip did not go according to plan.  It's not a big deal though, because I still scored some pretty sweet savings:

Buy 1 Cascade Crystal clear rinse aid 8.45oz: $5.47
Buy 1 Duncan Hines 20.45 oz Carrot cake: $2.88
Buy 1 specially marked Lunchables: $1.94
Buy 1 Dove trial size hairspray: $0.93
Buy 1 Gold Bond trial size powder: $0.97
Buy 1 pair of clearance sunglasses: $7.00 (These were to replace my beloved Guess sunglasses that got damaged in the move.  I got them at our last NEX for $27, but unfortunately this NEX does not have the same style for sale.  I need a pair of sunglasses to hold me over until I find them again, so I might as well get a pair of cheapies from Walmart)
Subtotal: $19.19
Use 1 FREE Cascade coupon (-$5.47)
Use $1/1 Duncan Hines printable (-$1.00)
Use $2/1 Dove Hair Care product coupon (-$2.00)
Use $1/1 Gold Bond coupon (-$1.00)
Grand Total: $9.72 + $1.17 tax = $10.89 (Savings of $9.47)

This was actually separated into 3 transactions, since I need an original receipt for both the Duncan Hines and Lunchables rebate.  If I receive just my purchase price back, I will be getting back $4.82, making my total expense $6.07.  However, if they give me the full value of the rebate back, I will be getting back $6.99 and my total expense will drop down to $3.90.

Either way, I will get everything but the sunglasses for free after rebate.  Things didn't go exactly according to plan, but I'm satisfied!

Mailbox of All You Goodies

It's not like I really need another reason to love All You more than I already do, but it looks like that they're working overtime in order to secure the "Most Beloved Magazine" spot in my heart. Last week I received an email from All You Reality Checkers with an invitation to try out some mascara. The email stated that the offer was only the first 2000 responders were eligible, and although I was sure that I missed it I decided to fill out the form anyway.

It's a good thing that I did, because I received a tube of Rimmel Sexy Curves full volume & curve mascara today. Free mascara delivered right to my door is right up there with free chocolate...because my 4-month old baby has more volume and curve in her lashes than I do. I have no eyelashes to speak of. According to the email, when I fill out the survey next week my quote could appear in an upcoming issue of All You...! My 5 minutes of fame!

The other two goodies that I received aren't so bad either. I got my scent card and $1/1 coupon for Gain from Walmart. And boy, does it smell good or does it smell good! It smells more like perfume than detergent! I'm going to hard-pressed not to pick up a box. The last freebie that I got today was a coupon from Iams for a FREE 3.5lb bag of Iams Dog Premium Protection, or $7 off any bag 6lb or larger. I'm going to add this to my Walmart shopping list for tomorrow.

What I really loved about this freebie (apart from free dog food!) is the fact that they actually told me where I could buy it. They had an insert printed with my 3 closest stores that carried the product. More companies should really do this, because it's SO frustrating to be walking around with your free product coupon only to find out that no one carries it. And I really don't have time to be going into every single store looking for one product. Free stuff is great, but not that great.

Here are some new freebies that you can request to beef up your own Mailbox of Goodies:
Don't forget to check the "Incoming Freebies" list to the right. It's updated at least once a day with new goodies for your mailbox!

Walmart run

Normally I do not share my Walmart runs before they are over and done with, but since I'm on a roll today with the CVS & Walgreens scenarios, I thought I'd do a Walmart one too.

I will be VERY surprised if this comes out according to plan. Nothing at Walmart ever goes according to plan since they're always out of one thing or another, but I make a plan nonetheless because it would be chaos without one. It's not a very good scenario since I don't have the prices of some of the items, but it gives me a rough idea of how long the trip will take and how much I will be spending.

Buy 6 Huggies Cleanteam 40ct. wipes ($1.65) : $9.90
Buy 1 Barilla Piccolini Pasta (16-oz): $1.27
Buy 1 Woolite Dry Cleaner's Secret: up to $2.99
Buy 1 Cascade Crystal clear rinse aid 8.45oz: ???
Buy 1 Yoplait Kids yogurt product: up to $3.24
Buy 1 Duncan Hines 20.45 oz Carrot cake: up to $3.99
Buy 1 Land o Lakes butter in 8 half sticks: up to $4.39
Buy 1 Centrum Cardio product: up to $10.00
Buy 1 specially marked Lunchables (cheese, pepperoni, or pizza & treatza pizza): up to $3
Buy 1 Green Giant Valley Fresh Steamers: $1.27
Buy 2 Dove trial size hairspray: $0.97
Buy 1 Gold Bond trial size powder: $0.97
Buy 1 Purina Yesterday's News moisture locking pellets: up to $6.99
Subtotal: $48.08
Use 3 $3/2 Huggies Cleanteam coupon (-$9.00)
Use $1/1 Barilla printable (-$1.00)
Use 1 FREE Wolite coupon (-$2.99)
Use 1 FREE Cascade coupon
Use 1 FREE Yoplait Kids coupon (-$3.24)
Use $1/1 Duncan Hines printable (-$1.00)
Use $0.50/1 Land o Lakes coupon (-$0.50)
Use $3/1 Centrum coupon (-$3.00)
Use $1/1 green giant coupon (-$1.00)
Use $2/1 Dove Hair Care product coupon (-$2.00)
Use $1/1 Gold Bond coupon (-$1.00)
Use FREE Purina coupon (-$6.99)
Grand Total: $16.36 (Savings of $31.72)

I'm also going to keep an eye out for the Scotch Fur Fighter Hair Remover starter kit since I have a $4/1 coupon for that.

If I find everything that I'm looking for, I'll have to make at least 4 transactions because I'm buying 4 items that have rebates and all require the original register receipt. What I'll probably end up doing is dividing all of my items into four different piles and doing the transactions that way. I take a scan of all my rebate materials before I send them in anyway, so it really doesn't matter in the end.

Rebates

Duncan Hines try me free (up to $3.99) - requires receipt & UPC
Land o Lakes try me free (up to $4.39) - requires receipt & UPC
Centrum cardio cash back rebate (up to $10) - requires receipt & UPC
Lunchables Pizza try me free (up to $3.00) - requires receipt & UPC
Rebate total: $21.38

If everything goes according to plan, I would have made a profit of $5.02 after rebates. Normally I don't play the Walmart coupon-game, just because it takes way too much energy and my Walmarts all have really rude cashiers, but I have returns to make and noticed I had a couple of rebate items to take advantage of. And if I'm going to be searching the store for these rebate items, I might as well make it a full run and go full-force with my coupons.

Saturday's Shopping Trip

Today was such a busy day for us. It's currently 10:30 PM, and I've been pretty much working non-stop since I woke up at 8 AM this morning. We had a lot on our to-do list, but part of it was also due to the fact that I've been slacking on my household duties due to a feverish baby and doggy diarrhea which required going out every hour while it rained non-stop for nearly 2 days. I was so tired last night that I ended up making the menu plan and grocery list this morning, which really started the day off late and put us off schedule before we even left the house. We ended up home 3 hours after when I had planned.

Anyway, here's what we did on our shopping trip around town today:

Petsmart (OOP: $29.00; Savings: $5.00)
My poor little Chip dog needed a hair-cut badly, and I managed to get him one at Petsmart the same morning. However, I will never go there again, because the service was terrible. When I called an hour before the appointment, I was told that it was going to be $27.99. When I took him in, they raised the price to $34, even though the girl that I spoke with admitted to telling me $27.99 just an hour earlier. I had described to her exactly what I wanted to be done too. They took him to the back without even asking me what I wanted to be done on him, and I actually had to ask them to bring him back so I could tell them what to do. I have never been to a groomer's where they just took the dog without even asking me about how I wanted him to look or if he had any special allergies or problems. He ended up looking alright, but I will not be going back to them. When he got out he went potty for like...5 minutes, and he drank 2 bowls of water when we got home. I can't believe they didn't even provide him with water. The good news though is I managed to use an expired $5/$25 coupon.

Wal-mart (OOP: nothing! Savings: my All You magazine!)
I had to return a stationery entertainment center that we bought last week, and bought the new September issue of All You on a gift card. I was looking forward to their Baby Days event, but apparently only Super Wal-marts are hosting it. Good thing the event is until the 19th, because I actually have a Super Wal-mart that is closer to me, but I rarely go to that one since there's no other stores we need close to it.

Target (OOP: $18.00; Savings Profit: $7.00!)
Today was the last day of their 4/$9 with $5 GC back on certain Kellogg's products. I ended up doing one huge transaction because I did not do the Kellogg's Back to School rebate yet. I bought 8 Pop Tarts, 2 Keeblers, and 2 Rice Krispies all in one transaction to fulfill the requirements for the $10 rebate and to get a total of $15 in giftcards. Here are the coupons that I used to get my OOP down from $27 to $18:
  • 8 Target printable $0.50/1 Pop Tart coupons (Total savings: $4)
  • 3 $1/2 Pop Tart coupons (Total savings: $3)
  • 1 $1/2 Keebler coupon (Total savings: $1)
  • 1 $1/2 Rice Krispies coupon (Total savings: $1)
After the rebate comes back, I will have made $7! And to make things even sweeter, I can take advantage of the Kellogg's United Through Reading book offer since a lot of my Pop Tart boxes came with the tokens. I need the UPCs and receipt for the rebate, but I only need the tokens for the book offer. We got "Where's the Baby's Belly Button?" book, and I can't wait to receive it in the mail.

I have to admit that the picture on the back of the box of a deployed mom reading a story to her kids via recorded DVD nearly brought tears to my eyes. Now that my daughter's older and starting to comprehend her world and the people in it, I literally live in fear of the day my husband's leaving for his "business trip". That's our new name for it. "Business trip" sounds a lot better, and if you're technical about it...it is a business trip after all. That lasts months. And is dangerous. But still a business trip!

Pictures at Sears! (OOP: $22.34; Savings: $57.63)
This was our second trip to Sears, because our attempt to take pictures failed miserably since the baby decided to start screeching when we attempted to get her into her first outfit, and wouldn't stop until 3 hours later. Today went a LOT better, and we ended up spending $22.34 for a collage, a 10 x 13, a bordered 8 x 10, and 2 regular 8 x 10s. It's more than I've ever spent at any picture studio, but I think that I got a lot for my money - 5 pictures with 9 poses on them.

Believe it or not, even though the baby is 4 months old, this is only the 10th picture I have of her with daddy. And the first with all three of us. My favorite by far was one of the last ones that we took - my husband is in his dress whites against a flag background, and the little princess is in her little sailor dress that I found at the Thrift Store last week. He's kneeling on one knee and she's sitting on his knee just gazing up at him. Maybe I'm just emotional tonight, but that picture just brings tears to my eyes because she adores him so much, but the whole picture is just a bittersweet reminder that he'll be in and out of her life until she's pretty much in college.

Children's Place (OOP: $3.20; Savings: ???)
I got a little body suit ($1.99) and a tie-dye shirt ($0.99) for the little princess. No, she doesn't need anymore clothes, but I'm on the hunt to diversify her wardrobe. I am on a mission to end the endless sea of pink and purple that is her wardrobe. I will never buy her anything pink or purple again, because everyone else does that enough for me!

Mastercuts (OOP: $14.95)
This was a completely an "impulse buy", but then again, I really needed it. For the past month I have been shedding like a Husky in Africa, so while we were killing time in the mall waiting for our pictures to be downloaded, I stopped in to get just an inch of dead hair trimmed off. Yes, I could have gone to the place in the NEX and gotten it done for like...$7, but barber shops at any NEX just gives me the creeps.

One of the downsides of moving around so much is that you have no one to do your hair! Before I got married, one lady has been my hairdresser since middle school. She (still) works down the street from my parents' house, and while in college I waited until breaks to get my haircut with her. And when I moved to Charleston, I finally found a magician hairdresser that was not only cheap but GREAT. He gave me a hairstyle that looks great on me, is easy to maintain, and doesn't look terrible if I can't get my hair cut for a couple of months. For a while I was seriously considering visiting Charleston just to get my hair done by him again.

Sam's Club (OOP: $5.70)
This was our treat for the week - pizza at Sam's Club. Besides, it was a necessity at that point because we were both starving. I had skipped breakfast in order to get the menu plan/grocery list done, and my husband skipped breakfast to do the laundry containing our picture-taking clothes.

Commissary (OOP: $15.32; Savings: $14.74 and then some)
I'm so sick of this trip, so if you would like to read about my fiasco at the commissary this afternoon, read my post on it and save me from having to deal with it again.

Total OOP: $108.51
Total Savings: around $125

We spent a lot today, but at the same time we also got a lot, so I think it's even. It's important to count your pennies, but at the same time it's important to know when to relax and step back to look at the bigger picture.

Huggies Offers exclusively at Walmart

I got an email this morning from Huggies advertising Baby Days that will be held exclusively at Walmart from September 6th thru September 19th. Here is what their website says:

Stop by Baby Days September 6th-19th
Enjoy Funtimes at select Walmart Stores during Baby Days!

Stop by your local Walmart and learn all about what's new and exciting
for you and your baby. There are new products, samples, activities.

special offers and more all waiting for you! so mark September 6th
through the 19th on your calendar because Baby Days is a must for all
moms and moms-to-be.

Then they have a sneak peak at two different offers - including that very cute box of wipes. Apparently, they will be selling wipes in designer boxes that can be reused. The box just looks adorable and I really want one, but somehow I think it'll cost more than my 1 cent-per-wipe average. Maybe I can work some magic with the Huggies coupons that I have.

The second sneak peak features a special-edition Winnie the Pooh Book inside boxes of Huggies diapers. I'm not overly excited about this though, considering my little princess is far from the reading or demanding a bed time story stage.

I'll be going to Walmart anyway this Saturday, so I'm definately going to stop by and see what this Baby Days is all about. I definately want to their samples and special offers...!

This week's shopping in review

This week just completely flew by for me, especially the past two days what with my back-to-back major shopping trips. Here is a quick recap:

Thursday 08/28/08
CVS: $22.45 of stuff for $1.09 OOP with $8.99 ECB for next time
Walmart: $3.98 of stuff for $2.61 OOP with $2.99 back from the BUNdinos rebate
Walgreens: $24.35 of stuff for $0.25 PROFIT
Thrift Store: 9 items for $5 (stuffed Dalmatian, lunch box, winter snowsuit, 4 diaper covers, 2 pairs of shoes)
Merchandise total: $50.78 (not including thrift store purchases)
OOP expense: $8.45
Rebate/ECB: $11.98

Friday 08/29/08
Commissary: 26% savings of $16.60
Walgreens: $65.65 of stuff for $34.35 OOP with $57.23 rebate (profit of $22.88!!!)
Merchandise total: $128.48
OOP expense: $83.72
Rebates: $57.23

Since I won't be doing more shopping this week, here are my grand totals for the last week of August:
Merchandise total: $179.26
OOP expense: $92.17
Rebate/ECB: $69.21
Total savings: $87.09
Total savings AFTER rebate: $161.38 - that's $17.88 for $179.26 of stuff!!!

Later today I will be closing up the August budget spreadsheet, and I cannot wait to see how we did. Although we've had a wild and busy month, I'm very excited to see what the final outcome is. This is the very first month that we've strictly stuck to a menu plan and budget, and so far it's working! I think we did so well that there may even be leftover funds to go out for a celebratory dinner!

My money-maker shopping trip

I had a very good shopping trip, and ended up spending $1.09 OOP for all of this. It's all going to the USO tomorrow morning. Things didn't go quite according to plan, but I am very pleased with my results nonetheless.

CVS
Buy 1 Kotex 16ct: $1.49
Buy 1 Zipfizz Energy Drink: $5.99
Buy 1 Pert Plus: $3.99
Subtotal: $11.47
Use $2/$10 CVS coupon (-$2.00)
Use $1/1 Kotex coupon (-$1.00)
Use $2/1 Pert Plus coupon (-$2.00)
Grand Total: $6.47 (use $5.79 ECBs, paid $0.58 + $0.06 tax)
ECBs returned: $1.49 (Kotex) + $5.99 (Zipfizz) = $7.48

Buy 1 Zipfizz Energy Drink: $5.99
Buy 1 Playtex Gentle Glide: $4.99
Subtotal: $10.98
Use $2/$10 CVS coupon (-$2.00)
Use $1/1 Playtex coupon from sample (-$1.00)
Grand Total: $7.98 (use $1.49 ECB + $5.99 ECB , pay $0.50 + $0.10 tax)
ECBs returned: $5.99 (Zipfizz) + $3.00 (Playtex) = $8.99

My original plan was to buy 2 Colgates, but I needed to get the Pert Plus to send in for my $3.99 tear-pad rebate. No one else carried the three varieties that the rebate was good for! I found it just in time too, because 8/31 is the last purchase date.

The other things you see in the picture comes from my earlier Walgreens trip where they paid me $0.25 for taking their stuff. The stray box of Kotex is from Walmart. I had to go to make a return, so I figured I'd pick up some freebies while I was there. I also FINALLY found a box of BUNdinos to buy for the rebate (again, just in time for the 8/31 deadline), and it's actually a moneymaker because I had a $0.50/1 coupon. Here's my Walmart transaction:

Kotex: $1.00
Bundinos: $1.98
"Superstar" onesie for the little princess: $1.00
Subtotal: $3.98
Kotex $1/1 printable: -$1.00
Bundinos $0.50/1 from All You: -$0.50
Grand Total: $2.48 + $0.14 tax = $2.61 on a giftcard. And I should get $2.99 back for the rebate. That's a free onesie and $0.38 profit.

I just absolutely love it when I get paid to shop...!

Weekend furniture madness

Our goal for this weekend is to basically finish unpacking our house and make it presentable, since my mother-in-law and brother-in-law were visiting for a night on their way back to college. We finally received the settlement from the moving company on Thursday, so we went out to buy new replacement furniture this weekend. We need a new kitchen table, an entertainment center, a bookcase, and a desk, but this weekend we decided to just get the bookcase and desk. Since the couch isn't pressed against a wall in this house, I also wanted to get a sofa table. So, the search was on for a sofa table that will also double as a bookcase for our 3 boxes of books.

We went to Walmart, Target, and Ikea. We found a console table at Walmart that we both liked, but it was open on the bottom with no storage room for our books. So we looked at Target and Ikea, and neither of those places had things that we liked or would fit our needs. As a compromise, we ended up buying the console table from Walmart and got three strong storage boxes from Ikea - if we place them facing out they become make-shift shelves for the books.

Well, let me just say that was a bad idea. Not the storage boxes, but getting a table at Walmart. The box was sealed and brand new, but when my husband started putting it together, we discovered missing assembly hardware and corners that were chipped. But of course, I decided to take a nap while the assembly was going on and my dearest husband decided to put the damaged furniture together anyway. So we had to take the fully assembled table back to Walmart. Thank the heavens that it fit into our car assembled, otherwise it would have been an even bigger waste of time.

I ended up ordering the "Exotic Retreat" console table from Target.com instead - the list price was $139.99, but they had a free shipping & 15% sale off select furniture $125 and up, and my Borders Perks membership gave me an additional 10% off that stacked. So basically, I got a 25% discount and free shipping, paying only $111.55 with tax for a piece of furniture that's originally $139.99. I also got a 4% rebate from ebates.com, so all-in-all it was a pretty sweet deal, and we're confident in the quality of Target products. Both the crib and changing table came from Target, and we haven't had problems with it yet! The only downside to ordering online is that I'll have to wait for it to get here, but it should be here no later than the end of the week.

The desk, however, is a different story. We were not able to find any at all three stores that fit our needs and our space. We got a cabinet that also doubles as a side-table from Walmart though, so now our desk-search can be broadened to include non-file-cabinet desks. But for now, the desk is not a priority since we only get a wireless connection by the window anyway.

We got the tools to clear up all of our boxes today, so tomorrow it's declutter declutter declutter declutter! But I'll put that in a separate posting, since that is part of the August Declutter Challenge.

Walmart $15 savings!

I love Walmart, especially when I can save $15 in less than an hour's time. Here's the breakdown:

2 Cleanteam wipes @ $1.64 each: $3.28
2 Carpet Fresh @ $2.18 each: $4.36
Kotex: $1.00
Dawn Foamer: $2.44
Johnson's nursing pads: $6.92
John Freida travel mousse: $0.97
Toilet bowl cleaner (my poor disgusting toilets were very happy): $0.97
Kitchen Set (4 kitchen towels, 2 pot-holders, 1 oven mitt, 1 dish towel - good deal!) : $5.00
Cleaning Cloths: $2.78
The all important All You magazine (after all, this is where I got most of my coupons in the first place): $1.77
Product total: $30.49

Coupons used
$3/2 Cleanteam wipes printable
B1G1 Carpet Fresh (All You)
$1/1 Kotex printable
$1.50/1 Dawn Foamer (mailer)
$1/1 John Freida product (All You)
Total coupon savings: $9.68

I also took advantage of the Pert/Sure Back to School Offer. Basically you buy $5 in Pert/Sure products and $5 in school supplies, and they will send you a rebate for $5. Well, I used my 2 $2/1 Pert coupons, so I will be getting $10 worth of stuff for $2.85 when my rebate comes. The items needed for this offer I put on a separate receipt, just in case I need the receipt for my other purchases I'm not left without.

2 Pert Plus 2in1 @ $2.88 each: $5.76
3 Tape @ $0.46 each: $1.38
Crayola markers: $0.88
500 ct. Copy Paper: $3.00
Product total: 11.02

Coupons used
2 $2/1 Pert Plus: $4.00
Total Coupon savings: $4.00
Total Rebate savings: $5.00

I know I could have increased my savings by using the $3 HP printer paper printable coupon, but for some reason it never scans right, and since Walmart was at the end of my errand run yesterday, the baby was starting to fuss and I really didn't want to have to sit there and wait.

One lesson that motherhood has taught me: your sanity and your baby's happiness is priceless and definately not worth a couple of bucks.

Today's shopping trip

I went out bright and early today to make some returns at Walmart and Target, and also to pick up some baby girl dresses for $5. CVS was on the way, so I decided to stop there as well.

Stop #1: Target
T-shirt from clearance section: $3.98
Baby photo album: $14.79
Okay, so the photo album wasn't exactly a frugal buy, but it was one of those predesigned photo scrapbooks that I've been looking for everywhere. Besides, it came out of the baby's Target giftcard. I didn't use any coupons at Target, because all my Targets are very picky and I was just not in the mood for their stupidity today.
Disappointments: The return clerk took forever and a day...! And they didn't have any of the eco-friendly binders. I could care less about the eco-friendly part, but these binders are wider than regular binders and would work perfectly for my photo inserts.

Stop #2: Wal-mart
Oral-B essentials floss: $0.97 ($1/1 P&G 6/1)
Old Spice body wash trial: $0.97 ($1/1 P&G 6/1)
Gold Bond lotion trial: $0.97 ($1/1)
Kotex 16-ct pads: $1.00 ($1/1)
Zantac cool mint: $3.98 (should have used $5/1)
Disappointments: I forgot that I didn't have anymore Zantac coupons and got it anyway!!! I get all of "freebies" everytime I go to Wal-mart. We can't use them all but I like to send them to troops overseas. So out of habit I grabbed it...oops.
Coupons that didn't work: cleanteam $3/1 & HP 500ct. paper $3/1
I purposefully didn't grab the buddies soap because it was on the other side of the store and I was exhausted. The cashier automatically scanned all my coupons without calling for a manager, which was refreshingly nice.

Stop #3: CVS
I've never been to this CVS, and if it was closer I would go -all- the time. It is SO nice, and they even had carts so I didn't have to lug the carseat everywhere!
Transaction #1
3 Listerine smart-rinse: $3.49 x 3 = $10.47
1 CVS 40ct. bandages: $1.99
1 Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Mascara: $7.99
Used $4/$20 CVS coupon, 1 $1/1 Listerine coupon, $6.99 ECB, $6.00 ECB
OOP: $2.72
Got back $7.99, $1.99, and $10.47 in ECBs

Transaction #2
1 CVS men's after-shave ($2.59)
1 4ct. chocolate flavor straw ($0.49)
Used $2/1 CVS skincare coupon
OOP: $1.16
Got back $1.00 in ECB

Total product total: $23.53
Total OOP: $3.88
ECBs earned: $21.45

They didn't have anymore Oral-B toothbrushes, so I had to compromise and get more Listerine. I wasn't planning on maxing out that deal because I ran out of $1/1 coupons, but I needed to get my first transaction product total to $20 so I could use my $4/$20. And I screwed up and got the chocolate straw because I thought I had the $1 ECB already...by the time I realized, I wasn't going to make the nice cashier cancel the transaction so I could go back and find something worth $1.50. Not bad though for things not going completely as planned.

And on the way home I stopped by to buy this huge bag of baby girl clothes for $5. I really only wanted the pretty fluffy dresses (there were two of them), but I guess I can use some of the other stuff. Can't beat the $5 price though.

Total time spent out: 3 hours
Mileage: 31 miles (so around $4 spent in gas)
Total amount spent: $30
