Okay, I know that 8 PM isn't exactly "late night", but when you're sick it is. My stupid good for nothing dear sweet husband gave me the sniffles that he had last week. Except he can pump himself full of whatever drugs he wants. But since I'm nursing, I don't get that luxury. And he has to be conveniently working late 3 days out of the next 7 days too. This week is going to be fun.
Anyway, I have $30 in RR from the Robitussin deal last week, and a $10 RR expires tomorrow. Next week's deals don't look too fantastic, so I decided to make a late-night trip out to buy some coke. Here is the breakdown:
Buy 2 Coke 12 packs (2/$7.49 deal): $7.49
Buy 1 baby pool (clearance from $9.99): $2.49
Buy 1 warhead sweets (clearance): $0.14 this was a filler item. I didn't know if they would take my $10 RR if I only had $9.98 of stuff, but my nose was just too sniffly for me to want to even try. Besides, they're good.
Grand Total: $10.12 + $0.52 tax = $10.64 (use $10 RR, pay $0.64 OOP)
It's not the greatest deal in the world, but when you consider the fact that I got those $10 RR by spending $3.18 on 3 Robitussins...the deal gets a lot sweeter. Basically, for $3.82 OOP I got:
I'm not sure I'm too big of a fan of the Walgreens RR program. I still like the CVS ECB program a lot more, simply because I can use ECB to pay and still have ECBs print out. You can't exactly "roll" register rewards. I'm also not thrilled that they count the RR as a "manufacturer's coupon" either. Unless I run into a huge moneymaker again like the Robitussin deal, I'm certainly not going to be tripping over myself to get to a Walgreens anytime soon.

I can't figure out how to do this at Walgreens. This just sounds too good to be true
