CVS 9/21 - 9/27

Okay, since my last attempt to put together the CVS deal for next week got interrupted, I decided to do it tonight. Kind of had to since the L'Oreal deal is Sunday and Monday only, and we're going out tomorrow anyway. Nothing is really fits for the $5 charity challenge the way I have them planned out, but I'm trying to accommodate the coupons and ECBs that I have on hand. It's late and I'm tired, so I will rework the deals for a $5 charity challenge tomorrow.

This week I'm planning to do three different transactions, and I pray that they go according to plan since I'm going to be using ECBs from the first two transactions in the last one. I try not to do this because I can never predict how things go, but I really wanted to take advantage of the buy $25 get $10 ECB deal without a huge OOP cost.

Transaction #1
Buy 1 Adidas Deodorant: $4.99
Buy 1 VO5: $0.65
Buy 1 Nivea for Men: $4.99
Subtotal: $10.63
Use $2/$10 CVS coupon (-$2.00)
Use $1/1 Adidas coupon (-$1.00)
Grand Total: $7.63 (use $4.00 + $3.00 ECB)
OOP expense: $0.63 + tax
ECBs returned: $4.00 (Adidas) + $4.99 (Nivea) = $8.99

Transaction #2
Buy 1 L'Oreal Advanced RevitaLife: $11.99
Subtotal: $11.99
Use $2/$10 CVS coupon (-$2.00)
Use $1/1 L'Oreal coupon (-$1.00)
Grand Total: $8.99 (use $4.00 + $3.99 ECB)
OOP expense: $1.00 + tax
ECBs returned: $11.99 (L'Oreal)

Transaction #3
Buy 2 Crest Pro-Health Toothpaste ($2.99 each): $5.98
Buy 1 Huggies mega pack (size 1, 66ct): $15.00
Buy 1 Huggies wipes (42 - 80ct.): $2.99
Buy 1 Cottonelle (12pk): $6.49
Buy 1 Kleenex (120ct): $1.00
Subtotal: $31.46
Use $5/$30 CVS email coupon (-$5.00)
Use 2 $0.75/1 Crest coupon (-$1.50)
Use $1.50/1 Huggies diapers (-$1.50)
Use $0.75/1 Huggies wipes (-$0.75)
Use $0.50/1 Cottonelle coupon (-$0.50)
Grand Total: $22.21 (use $11.99 L'Oreal + $4.99 Nivea + $3.00 + $2.00 ECB)
OOP expense: $0.23 + tax
ECBs returned: $10.00 (Huggies/Cottonelle) + $4.00 (Crest) = $14.00

Merchandise total: $54.08
Total OOP: $1.86 + tax
Total ECBs left for next time: $10.00 (Huggies/Cottonelle) + $4.00 (Crest) + $4.99 (Adidas) = $18.99
Total ECBs spent: $36.97

I didn't exactly increase my ECBs, which is something that I hope to be able to do every time, but I don't think I did too bad nonetheless. We don't exactly need diapers desperately, but diapers are on my get-when-cheap list. We sort of do need toilet paper though. Either way, after I did some math, I end up paying $7.61 for a mega pack, $1.07 for the wipes, $3.44 for the toilet paper, and $0.60 for the Kleenex. That makes it around $0.12 a diaper. In case you're interested in how I did the math...I did it with excel. It's really not as complicated as it sounds, it's just a couple of simple formulas:

$0.12 a diaper and $0.29 for a roll of toilet paper works for me! Granted, I like to pay $0.01 per wipe, but then again, let's keep in mind that I'm also getting a box of Kleenex out of the deal. Either way, it's better than paying full price!
