This is the batch of coupons that I sent overseas today for Coupons for Troops. I didn't calculate the total value of the coupons, but it was a good size batch. It probably would have looked more impressive if I fanned the coupons out so most of them showed, but it was already packaged and as I went to seal the envelope I had the thought to take a picture. In short, I was lazy and didn't want to make it un-lumpy again.
Anyway, most are recently expired coupons, but there are some in there that are commissary-only coupons for products that we don't use in this house. The final cost of postage was a mere $0.76. For less than a dollar I can help out countless families stationed overseas.
Now is the perfect time to start in the Coupons for Troops program, since I'm having a giveaway for $200 in coupons and a surprise until Thursday. I am also offering a small appreciation gift for anyone who can send me proof that you have mailed a batch of coupons off. You can either mail them directly overseas, or to Toni over at The Happy Housewife since she actually runs the program. The cost of postage is the same for either destination...it's just up to your personal preference.
I'm going to be sending off another batch at the end of this month, since it seems like that every other coupon that I have is going to expire 9/30. If you're in the same boat, it's the perfect time to clear out your coupon systems and do some good at the same time!

Thank you so much for taking the time to mail those coupons overseas. I know when I lived overseas I loved getting expired coupons to use and pass on to my friends!
I contacted Cherie (The Wandering Peanut) about sending to her all our expired coupons.
