So, I was not able to use my expired ECBs. But it's not a complete lost, because I called 1-800-SHOP-CVS and they gave me a $10 ECB after they told me they can't re-issue it (which I knew, but I thought I'd try). See, it pays to just give things a try - the worst they can do is say no, in which case I'm just back where I started. Anyway, this is what I ended up getting at CVS:
2 Colgate toothpaste @ $2.99 each: $5.98 (ECBs earned: $2 x 2 = $4)
1 Extreme Energy drink: $4.99 (ECBS earned: $4.99)
1 Children's Advil Infant Drops: $5.79 (ECBs earned: $5.79)
1 Almay Bright Eyes: $8.99 (ECBs earned: $5)
Coupons used:
1 $1.50/1 Colgate coupon (my printer ran out of ink on the second one)
1 $1/1 Colgate coupon
1 $1/1 Advil printable
1 $2/10 CVS coupon
Total OOP: $20.25
I know I know...I could have decreased my OOP by not getting the Almay bright eyes after they told me I couldn't use my expired ECBs, but the baby was screaming and my head was about to blow up. BUT...not all is lost, because I got back $39.27 in ECBs/coupons!
ECBs and coupons earned
$4.99 Energy Drink
$5.00 Almay
$4.00 Colgate
$5.79 Advil
$10.00 ECB from customer service
$2.49 value for 1 free CVS mouthwash (I guess this is the free gift they were talking about)
$2.00 value for $2/1 Colgate toothpaste coupon
$4.00 value for $4/$20 Playskool purchase
$1.00 value for $1/1 Biore coupon
If I had known the $2/1 colgate coupon would pop out, I would have only gotten one Colgate instead of two at a time! Oh well - I still got back $29.78 in actual ECBs and $9.49 worth of coupons.
