Commissary savings of $21.95!!!

I am so proud of myself...I've never saved so much with coupons at the commissary...!! I ended up spending $53.89 after my 12 coupons, and not only is that for food for the week, but also includes dish soap, fabric softener, baby wipes, and even treats for the dogs. Our "grocery" budget is only $200 a month, but my definition of "grocery" is anything we buy at the commissary (excluding that bi-monthly $30 bag of dog food), so insane extreme couponing is the only way to do it.

I wish I would have taken a picture of everything, but nevertheless, here's the breakdown of the coupon items...I'll spare you my fresh produce/non-coupon items:

$10/2 boxes of Glucerna bars - $3.12 overage! This is a printable, and was supposed to be available at Walmart for similar overage. I never found it at Walmart, but was very presently surprised to find it at the commissary.

$0.40/1 Presto product (shelf coupon) This was a shelf coupon I grabbed extras of in the past, and it comes in handy! Be sure to grab extra coupons when they become available because they only tend to stay up for a short time but the expiration date is way into the future.

$1/1 Kotex (printable or All You) - $0.16 overage! Better than free at Walmart!

One thing that definately helped me plan out my trip to the commissary is their website. You have to log in, but once you do, you can view savings for your particular store. The list has how much the item is currently selling for, and also how much percentage this is off the regular price - very useful for spotting super deal items. Of course, you still have to keep your eyes pealed for items that matches your coupons, but this certainly helped me a lot to match up sales & coupons.
