Unfortunately I don't have a picture for you since my husband put away all of the shopping already and I don't feel like getting it back out just for a picture. Things got a bit out of hand again this week...I must really be slacking because I used to be able to get my transactions to mirror my plan. Oh well, you just can't complain too much about free stuff!
Transaction #1
Buy 1 Chex mix: $1.00
Buy 1 Excedrin: $1.99
Buy 1 Revlon Nail Enamel: $3.99
Buy 2 Trident Xtra Care gum (2/$2): $2.00
Buy 2 Sprinkler Bobble head (on sale for $0.79 each): $1.58
Subtotal: $10.56
Use $2/$10 CVS coupon (-$2.00)
Use $1/1 Chex Mix coupon (-$1.00)
Use $2/1 Excedrin coupon (-$2.00)
Use free cotton swab CVS coupon (-$0.99): They were out of stock, but he let me use the coupon anyway since it was a free gift.
Use $0.75/1 Soft & Dri (-$0.75): No, I didn't buy this in this transaction, but somehow the coupon got into the pile and he rung it up anyway.
Use 2 $0.75/1 Trident coupon from All You (-$1.50)
Grand Total: $2.32 (use $2.00 ECB)
OOP expense: $0.32 + $0.14 tax = $0.46
ECBs returned: $3.00 (Revlon)
Transaction #2
Buy 1 L'Oreal Age Perfect, Revitalift, or Skin Genesis: $5.99
Buy 1 Excedrin: $1.99
Buy 1 Right Guard Sport: $2.99
Buy 1 Soft & Dri: $2.99
Subtotal: $13.96
Use $2/$10 CVS coupon (-$2.00)
Use $2/1 Excedrin coupon (-$2.00)
Use $1/1 Right Guard coupon (-$1.00)
Grand Total: $8.96 (use $5.00 + $3.00 ECB)
OOP expense: $0.96 + $0.19 tax = $1.15
ECBs returned: $5.99 (L'Oreal) + $4.00 (Right Guard/Soft & Dri) = $9.99
My major screw-up was not putting the "Soft and Dri" in the right transaction. That mistake was actually quite costly, because I was not able to use up my $5 ECB that expires this week, and I ended up getting $4 ECBs back since the RIght Guard and the Soft & Dri were in the same transaction, which defeats my running goal of getting low ECBs. It's not the end of the world though, because I can stop by while I'm out this Wednesday and buy something else with those expiring ECBs - I saw a couple of deals in the ad that weren't exactly free after ECBs, but better than just blowing $5 without any return.
