My regular postman must be on vacation or something, because today's mailman actually knocked on my door to ask me if certain people live here. I guess he got confused with all the different last names that get mail at this address. There's our regular family name, then I also get mail under my maiden name. And last but not least there's tons of goodies that come in under my freebie requesting name, which is a common mis-spelling of our last name. Poor guy was so confused.
Anyway, I got some unexpected surprises today. Apparently I had won Hane's Wedgie Free Wednesdays TWICE. I didn't know you could win repeatedly...I just entered every Wednesday and hoped for the best. I also received my $6 check from SurveySpot. I joined SurveySpot about a year ago, and I've just been very casually filling out the surveys that paid money. I just ignored the ones that offered entries in their sweepstakes. It's not a lot of money and it's definitely not something I would count on for some extra cash, but $6 for doing absolutely nothing is great. That's a fast-food run or a Starbucks trip right there.
My Christmas cards were my only free samples today. The offer was for three cards, but apparently one of the ones that I requested were out of stock and they sent two instead. The least they could have done was throw in another random card. Oh well, can't complain too much about free stuff. I really like the cards, but it's really a better option for small business or people with huge families, since the orders are done in batches of a hundred. The price includes imprint, choice of verse, imprint color, font, and blank envelopes though, so the price (around $1) isn't too bad considering. We just have no use for $100 cards at this point, but it's something that I'm going to keep in mind for the future.
I've been slacking on my "incoming Freebies" list due to the mind-splitting headache this weekend, but I've since caught up! Here are some recent additions:
