I am very glad that this challenge came along because I definately need to spend more time with my daughter. She's only 3 months old, but the last 3 months have been so crazy I feel like I've missed it all. The first 2 months of her life I was all by myself because my husband left 4 days after she was born and we weren't reunited until July. And after we moved here, I've been so busy dealing with setting up house and dealing with the movers. She's a very good baby and not fussy at all, and I'm afraid that I've taken advantage of that. I pretty much feed her, change her, and then prop her in her bouncer or in some other entertainment device and return to my never-ending to-do list. This has got to change. I feel like one moment I was in the delivery room, and the next thing I know she's 3 months old.
So, starting tonight, we will have an hour of uninterrupted baby time during which she and I will sit on the couch and just smile ourselves silly (she loves to smile - we're a very VERY happy baby). And we'll play bouncey, because she -loves- to bounce and that always gets a good 30 minutes of laughing out of her. I got her 2 new toys from the thrift store today (only $1 each), and although they're for when she's older, I'll show it to her tonight nonetheless. One is a seasame street driving wheel which was just too cute and so hard to find these days that I had to have it. The noises that it makes are just precious. And the other one is a fisherprice sorting bucket that makes noises when you drop the blocks in. I have so many loose blocks I got from Goodwill that I bought it just to store those in...the added bonus is that it makes noise =).
And how are we going to accomplish this uninterrupted baby time? At daddy's expense, of course...! The only way that I can spend time with her is if I don't do certain things on my to-do list, which inevitably has to get done, and that is where we
...I can't waaaaait!
