There are a couple of deals for pet food going on right now. I only feed my dogs California Natural or Nutro Max, so unfortunately they won't help us, but I still like to take advantage of the low prices to donate the food to our animal shelters.
There is currently a coupon for $5 off any Science Diet product. The minimum purchase amount is a 3.5lb bag, 12 cans, or 6 large cans. I'm pretty sure I've seen those tiny 3.5lb bags for under $5, or at least pretty close to $5. I report back on how much a 3.5lb bag of food is at different stores.
Until the end of August, Jewel is selling a 3.6lb bag of Kibbles 'n Bits Wholesome Medley dog food for $4.99. There was a coupon for $2/1 in last Sunday's paper, and if you requested the Power of Paws DVD and booklet, you should have another $2/1 coupon. $2.99 for a bag of dog food is not too shabby.
Thanks to Hooray for Free-bates!, there is a mail in rebate for Nutro Ultra dog food. You have to buy by 8/31/08, and submit it by 9/14/08. Since our dogs eat Nutro Max, I'm going to give Nutro Ultra a try. There is a sliding scale of how much you get back depending on how much you buy. When I go to get my bags, I will do a quick calculation to determine which size would be the cheapest after mail-in rebate.

Thank you so much for doing pet food deals. I very rarely find them anywhere. I may have to try Nutro too.
