Menu Plan for August 24th – August 30th

If anyone would like recipes for these meals, just leave me a comment or email me and I will post it. The only reason that I only pick one favorite recipe for Mmm Mondays is that typing out 7 recipes every week is a bit taxing, but if someone expresses interest in a specific one, I would be more than happy to share.

My husband is working this weekend, so I have to have enough leftovers for him to take for 2 days and also to feed me as well, and as a result I have planned for some bigger meals this week. We've been doing really good on leftovers so far - before menu planning, we used to have TONS of leftovers in the fridge. Some we ate...some we forgot about, and when we threw them out they could have been mistaken for science experiments. But since I started menu planning, we have a very good handle on our leftovers.

Sunday
Hearty Pork Chops

Monday
Chicken Casserole

Tuesday
Molasses and Mustard Glazed Ribs w/ corn on the cob & broccoli (slow cooker meal)

Wednesday
LEFTOVER NIGHT

Thursday
Creamy Skillet Chicken

Friday
Crispy Orecchiette w/ broccoli, pine nuts, and garlic

Saturday
LEFTOVER NIGHT

I never thought I would have so much fun menu planning. For the entire month of August I have never once repeated a recipe, and I've had a lot of fun experimenting and trying out new things. I've also noticed a considerable drop in our grocery bill, now that we're only shopping for what we need and not letting things go to waste. We never have to throw food out now, and for the most part everyone in the family is a lot happier now that we have a set weekly menu.

Well, maybe except for Chloe and Chip. But I'm sure if we started sharing our dinners they would be pretty happy about our menu plan too.

What is Orecchiette? I'd love to see the recipe for that. :) http://spiceworld.us
