Holiday food stuffs!

What is your favorite Holiday recipe? Describe your Holiday table. What is your biggest Holiday cooking disaster?

My favorite Holiday recipe is whatever my hubby cooks.  I'm a terrible cook, and I can manage simple dinners without too much of an uproar, but a Holiday meal is out of the question.  He's in charge of figuring what we're eating, making the menu, and cooking it.  I'm lucky if he lets me help with the mashed potatoes.

Since we never host dinners at our house, on account of the fact that we're in a different state from everyone else, there's really no special table setting.  I think last year we ate in front of the TV so he could catch the football game or something.

I don't really have a Holiday cooking disaster to share, considering I'm not allowed in the kitchen (with good reason). I guess my only Holiday disaster related to food was when I had to throw up my entire Holiday meal last year while I was pregnant.  Hubby understood completely, but I still felt kind of bad that I couldn't even eat the meal he spent hours to prepare.

You are lucky to have a hubby that cooks! We would only eat Mac N Cheese!

Hello fellow anti-cooker. I'm the same way. I can cook with ground beef and that's about it. Good thing we have our hubbies.

I guess you'll have to send your hubby around for today's part of the blog party! Maybe he'll whip up something new and fantastic for you. :)

I'm not the cook in the house either. I have learned some things over the years though. Before we were dating, I could barely make grilled cheese!

I agree, you're very lucky to have a hubby that cooks! Mine is strictly heat and serve and then he usually only does it when I'm sick or not home.

YAY! A fellow non-cooker! I am a paranoid cooker and over cook it in fear of it making people sick! LOL

I'm not a cook either, thankfully I have a big family that cooks!! I usually bring the juice or soda or something that can be easily brought in a store!

Oh sad! At least he understood. :)

I'm glad your husband can cook! If, for some reason, I was unable to cook a Holiday meal mine would make burritos and tater tots!

Maybe I should get my hubby to cook this year. Then he would understand the stress.

Isn't it great to have a husband who can cook? We don't usually host holidays either...this will be our first Thanksgiving to host. Wish me luck!

Awwwww, that would be terrible to not be able to eat holiday dinner! But think of all the calories you saved ;)

About the gate, we only leave it up around the tree until Christmas Eve, then we take it down to put out the presents. Since the kids have stuff to play with other than the tree, we can usually leave it down at that point.

I wish my husband cooked like yours does. He doesn't not like to cook, but he only cooks about 3 things. So when it's his turn to cook, that's all you get.

That is so terrible! I did one worse... I got very sick on Christmas morning one year..and ended up in the hospital for dehydration ....that was a fun one. Needless to say my mom didn't cook me much that day!

My hubby won't set foot in the kitchen on holidays because he's afraid he'll lose body parts. But I'm an intense holiday cooker so that comes with the territory!
