This past week when I was making my trips to Walgreens and CVS, I noticed a fair amount of diapers at both stores that were on clearance for ridiculous prices. Two different Walgreens had Pampers Pull-ups for $1.50, which would make them almost free depending on what type of coupons you had. CVS had size 3 mega packs of Huggies on sale for 50% off, and I found a pack of Pampers Swipers wipes for $3.99 (regularly $7.99, plus I had a $1/1 coupon to make it $2.99).
Of course, clearance sections vary from store to store, and I don't know if it's a local or regional or even national thing for them to suddenly be clearance-ing out these items, but two different Walgreens and CVS in my area (Chicago, IL) had baby clearance items, so this week when you're out at those stores it might be worth your while to swing by their clearance endcaps, no matter where you are.
This week would also be a good time to go out and hit Walmart, Target, Kmart, and Big Lots for their clearance summer and back-to-school items. It might be a bit early for back-to-school, but it's prime time for summer garden items. Last year I got 5 packs of outdoor patio lights at Target for about $1 each, and some high quality plates for $0.25, so this is the perfect time for some clearance outdoor decor shopping.
Maybe I can find more gnomes on clearance...
