AdSense: $10/$50 Petco coupon

When I first started this blog, I made a promise to myself that I would keep ads to a minimum and that they would not distract from my content in anyway. I personally hate it when I go to a site and I'm distracted by about a thousand different ads that it makes it hard to stay on the site. I trust that you're here because of my blog, and not because of the ads that I run on it.

Anyway, I decided to play around with Google's AdSense tonight. I've heard good things about it, so I gave it a try. And it really is useful...because within seconds of setting it up I see an "ad" from Petco offering a $10/$50 coupon!

I'm really glad that we moved to an area with a Petco, because although their prices tend to be a bit higher than Petsmart, they also offer higher quality foods like Natural Balance, Solid Gold, or Wellness. The coupon is really useful if you've got a dog food purchase coming up - even if your bag of food is only $40, you can pick up some treats or toys and essentially get them for free with the coupon. I'm not sure about Petco's coupon policy, but you might be able to stack the $10/$50 coupon with manufacturer's coupons for treats for even bigger savings!

The coupon expires 9/27/2008, and requires a free PALs membership, which you should have anyway since they have a food reward program that will allow you to get a bag for free after you purchase 10 bags. Now that we're close to a Petco again, I've got to take a closer look at their prices and figure out if it's cheaper than getting the dog food at the commissary.
