Our old house was just one story, so it wasn't a big deal to walk into the nursery when the baby needed changing. Well, this house is two stories, and with my poor bum knee, it is all about minimizing trips up and down the stairs. So I created...drum-roll please...THE BABY STATION. Basically this is the pack-n-play set up in a corner of the family room, and a small bookcase with all of her supplies like diapers, burp clothes, extra clothing, toys, my nursing pads, pacis...etc. I even put a desk lamp on top for extra visibility when changing her diapers. As for dirty clothes, I bought an extra duck hamper identical to the one upstairs, and a cute hello-kitty trashcan for diapers. Now not only do I minimize trips on the stairs, I also don't have to deal with burp clothes or toys all over my couch. And I don't have to look at the ugly vents that cover most of that little wall. Win-win situation!
